Nirmoh Founder Parimal Trivedi is an eclectic entrepreneur, a natural connector of people, ideas, tools andtechnology.
When he was living in India in 2001, he witnessed one of India’s worst earthquakes in Bhuj city where he volunteered in earthquake relief camp. It was challenging to see, and many people lost their livesthat day. Many others had lost everything, and thousands needed urgent aid overnight.
People started donating clothes, leaving them on the side of the road. It was a beautiful gesture thatshowed me such humanity in people. The only problem was clothes weren’t needed. People neededfood, shelter and sadly cremations. They needed emergency medical supplies and first aid kits. Theydidn’t need thousands and thousands of items of clothing.
During 2019-20 Australia Bushfires he came across a similar trend. There was outpouring of handknitted Koala mittens from overseas. Officials were worried that a flood of good intentions can sparka new Disaster. Unsolicited supplies can compete with rescue efforts for resources. In the end, therewere public statements requesting people to – PLEASE do not send any more items for relief.
People become overwhelmed very quickly to donate money and goods during disaster which alsoopen doors to fraud and scams.This experience taught him two things. Firstly, people are profoundly good. Secondly, people needthe right place to channel this good.
This is why Nirmoh was born. I had a calling that I want to utilize all my life skills and energy to fillthis gap. As he ventured to start Nirmohhe realized there are other major gaps. Everyone has a goodcause in their heart they love and want to support. But most of the time people struggle to getinvolved and don’t know where to start. There is a need for goodness hub beyond fundraising wherepeople get inspired to not only raise but also ideas, resources and helping hands.
Nirmoh is a profit for good enterprise registered as a Business. Nirmoh provides a range of features for free to NFP entities and everyone in general. Nirmoh only charges a % of transaction for fees to remain sustainable and scalable.
Urgent aid, Blogs, Volunteer opportunities, Monthly subscription, Onboarding, Promotion, and many other features are free of cost.
Nirmoh is committed to give back 15-25% of its annual net profit back to NFPs selected at that time.
Only registered entities in not-for-profit space can be a beneficiary on Nirmoh. Nirmoh does not allow any fundraising, donations, etc for individuals or unregistered community groups.
